“Learn a lesson from the Joshua tree.” In my latest Catholic World Report column published yesterday, I draw on my recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park as a point of departure for reflecting on Pope Leo’s vision of creation interpreted according to the Paschal logic of the cross and resurrection. It is a timely reflection for this liturgical season, as the Church follows Jesus Christ ever more deeply into the desert during Lent.
